Simone qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2011. Simone spent a decade working at a private practice in London, honing her skills before moving back to Dublin.
Her key focus is providing pain-free dentistry in a relaxed and calm environment. She loves creating new smiles with makeovers with the use of dental and facial aesthetics. Simone is continuously updating to keep her skills and knowledge at the forefront of clinical expertise. Recent courses include a one-year certificate programme in Cosmetic Dentistry and Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry with Dr Christopher Orr. In addition to regular dental care, her areas of interest extend to root canal and cosmetic work including composite and crowns and Simone really enjoys treating children. Simone was delighted to be asked to join the team at South Dublin Dental. She looks forward to welcoming you to the clinic and helping you through your dental treatments at your own pace and with the gentle, caring and friendly manner that she brings to the surgery.
Roger Owens is a third generation Dentist. We are delighted that Roger has chosen to merge his existing Family Dental Practice with us here at South Dublin Dental with a view to carrying on and growing the Family tradition. He brings to South Dublin Dental extensive experience in oral surgery, dental implantology, endodontics, cosmetic dentistry, and child dentistry. Roger has experience as a Senior House Officer in Oral Surgery in Wales and supervised on the Paedodontic Teaching Clinic at the Dublin Dental Hospital. He completed his postgraduate studies at Trinity College Dublin and Warwick University in the UK. He received his Masters in Dental Implantology in 2012.
Roger enjoys playing golf, tennis, hillwalking,running and swimming. He has successfully hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro 2003, Base Camp Everest 2006, the Corsican GR20 route in 2018, completed the Killary 3.9km Swim in 2021 and summited Mt. Blanc France 2022.
Roger is married to Cristina (who’s father Gerry Meehan was also a very accomplished Dentist in Galway) and they have three daughters.
Alec's main focus in dentisty is dental implants. He completed his diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh in 2015 (D Imp Dent RCSEd). Alec was admitted as a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI).
Alec has a keen interest in all aspects of dentistry and regularly attends courses both in Ireland and abroad to keep his skills and knowledge base up to date. A lot of the work Alec carries out is cosmetic in nature, restoring people's smiles with orthodontics/bonding/veneers and implants. He would be happy to discuss all these options with you at a consultation.
Alec studied dentistry at Cardiff University where he won the prizes for best clinical cases and the prize for best final year project which was based on oral cancer research. Alec grew up in Donnybrook where he lives today with Hannah and their two young daughters.
Hannah has an interest in all aspects of Dentistry but especially root canals. She has obtained a Masters in Root Canals (MSc Clinical Endodontics) from her home country at the University of South Wales. Hannah mainly works in the provision of root canal treatment to her patients in her clinical practice now. She carries out this treatment with using the the most up to date equipment, namely a dental microscope and CT scanner where needed.
Hannah worked in Wales for 5 years and in a Dublin city centre practice for 3 years before joining Alec at South Dublin Dental in 2014. Hannah was born and raised in Cardiff, where she attended school and studied dentistry.
Kate graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in Dental Science. She enjoys all areas of dentistry and is particularly interested in aesthetic and restorative dentistry. She loves to see patients leaving her chair happy, with a healthier smile that they can be proud of.
She has a particular aptitude for enhancing patients natural smile using minimally invasive techniques such as clear aligners and composite bonding.
Kate has high clinical standards and enjoys attending courses to learn the newest techniques and is always striving for perfection.
Martha is our hygienist here at South Dublin Dental. Martha’s role is to look after all the periodontal (gum) needs or our patients and to improve their oral health. Martha has over 10 years of experience working as a dental hygienist and is renowned by her patients for her careful and gentle scaling technique.
Katie is our Practice Manager here at South Dublin Dental. She has been an integral part of the team since 2016. Katie completed the Dental Nursing Diploma in 2017 in the Dublin Dental University Hospital. Since then her role has grown year on year. Now as practice manager Katie's role is to train new staff, manage reception and ensure the smooth running of the practice.
