Wednesday September 19th sees the annual mouth cancer awareness day in Ireland. As part of this we will be carrying out FREE oral cancer screen checks on 19th from 11am-3pm. The screening process will take approximately 5-10 minutes.
Mouth Cancer is the 6th most prevelent form of cancer. Last year there were more than 300 cases discovered in Ireland. In the last 25 years the incidence of oral cancer has increased faster than any other cancer.
If caught in the early stages these cancers can be managed more easily and can give the patient a better survival rate and quality of life.
Risk factors such as smoking and drinking alcohol increase the chances of oral cancer occurance.
