In this implant case most of the teeth in the upper jaw were missing. We planned on removing the remaining teeth placing 4 implants and connecting them with a bar. An implant retained denture was then placed on this bar.
This has the effect of clicking the denture in to place, it is very difficult to remove and functions like natural teeth. Because the denture is so stable on the bar it covers very little of the palate making talking, eating and tasting much more enjoyable for the patient.
The restoration also gives very good lip support thus avoiding the sunken face look. The patient is delighted with the result and is back biting through apples easily which he hadn’t been able to do in over 20 years.
