The cracked tooth conundrum

A cracked tooth can be very painful. However, it is hard to find but certain symptoms can point us towards the diagnosis. The main symptom is a SHARP pain on biting (not a constant dull ache). The pain is relieved when your mouth is opened again. The below case shows the management of such a case.

Mouth Cancer Awareness Day

Wednesday September 19th sees the annual mouth cancer awareness day in Ireland. As part of this we will be carrying out FREE oral cancer screen checks on 19th from 11am-3pm. The screening process will take approximately 5-10 minutes. Mouth Cancer is the 6th most prevelent form of cancer. Last year there were more than 300

South Dublin Dental is a dental practice located just off the N11 in Booterstown with ample parking directly outside. We specialise in treating toothache (root canal treatment / Endodontics) and the replacement of missing teeth or those with a poor prognosis (dental implants). We also provide general dental services and a full dental hygiene service. The practice is fully digital and accepts PRSI and private patients. We are open from 8am every morning during the week. The practice was founded in 2012 by husband and wife team Alec & Hannah Granville. The practice was originally located in Foxrock from 2012-2022. We moved location to Booterstown in July 2022 to a brand new state of the art premises with four surgeries as the practice had outgrown its previous location.
